The Historic Dockyard at Chatham

From the Majesty of The Commissioners House and Officers Terrace to the architectural magnificence of the covered building slips, some dating to 1847, the Historic Dockyard is a living museum. A fascinating place to wander and imagine what it must have been like at the height of its shipbuilding, repair and maintenance times. Residential buildings now mix with the grandeur of the old architecture providing some interesting old versus new contrasts.
